Accountability
Accountability
Accountablity is an important factor in maintaining strength and stability in both our personal lives and in the life of our local church and ministries.
The Heart of the Matter
At Impact Christian Centre we believe that genuine accountability is a matter of the heart. Genuine accountability, is first of all being true to God, to ones' self, to ones' family, and to the people we serve. If we cannot be true in these areas, it is likely that any other form of accountability will not hold for long.
We endeavor to live by 2 Corinthians 6:3-4: 'Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed: But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God,...' Having said this we also believe in setting and being yielded to appropriate accountability structures strictly in line with the Word of God, so that there will be no room for any reproach being brought to the name of the Lord or His ministry.
Organizational Accountability
Impact Christian Centre is registered charity (No. 1105646) and is overseen by a board of four trustees.
ICC currently maintains a simple organizational structure with Ps. Philip Wilson as the senior pastor with Pastor Sarah Wilson and several ministry leaders responsible for various ministries and many volunteers working under the leadership of ministry leaders.
ICC maintains minimal salaried staff, while most of the ministries are carried out by believers who serve voluntarily.
Financial Accountability
ICC maintains complete financial transparency and accountability toward all its ministry leaders and members. Any ICC ministry leader or member can ask for and review its annual financial statements at any time. ICC's accounts are audited by chartered accountants Peter Michell, Providence, Bracken Lane, Storrington, W. Sussex. ICC furnishes an annual return of income every year to the Charities Commission.
Ministerial Accountability
ICC is not a denomination or part of any denomination and is not under the covering of a denominational body neither is it under the covering of any overseas ministry. It does however have recognise leaders and ministers that the pastors relate to personally and the church relates to as a body. These ministers have a personal invitatioon from the church and it's trustess to input as directed by God.
Ministerial accountability is established and maintained by:
(a) focussing on the the heart of the matter as stated above. If this doesn't work nothing else will!
(b) building and maintaining strong, meaningful relationships with mature ministers of God both locally in the UK and with senior ministers around the world. Ps. Phil continues to seek out and build meaningful relationships with mature ministers who can impart wisdom, strength and stability both at a personal level and to the ministry of ICC as a whole.
(c) submitting to one another in the fear of the Lord (Ephesians 5:21). No person, not even the pastor or ministry leaders are above this rule.
